This compilation cassette was released alongside a CD of the same name on July 3rd 2000. Issued on the EMI 'Gold' record label it featured well-known tracks by both Adge Cutler & The Wurzels and The Wurzels in their own right: It was reissued in August 2001 - with minor changes (track 12 changed and track 13 added on side 2) - following on from the success of The Wurzel's new single The Combine Harvester Remix 2001.
This cassette was issued in stereo: Of the tracks featuring Adge Cutler & The Wurzels some had been originally released in stereo, others were electronically reprocessed from the original mono to produce stereo sound. By 2000 EMI had dispensed with the traditional catalogue numbering system for their releases - between 1969 and 1982 they had an international coding system which they hoped would get adopted industry wide, and they used it worldwide for their own releases. By 2000 this system had been generally adopted and became the EAN/UPC barcode-based cataloguing system. The 2000 release of this album was 7243 5 27046 4 4 and the 2001 re-release was 7243 5 34401 4 5. The EMI 'Gold' label had been set up for the issue and re-issue of existing albums and compilations, including some vinyl recordings previously unreleased on CD. It is worth noting the three song title spelling errors on all versions of both this cassette (and the CD): Side 2 track 3 of the cassettes and track 15 on the CDs the track title is given as 'Down The Nempnett Thrubwell' instead of 'Down In Nempnett Thrubwell'. Side 2 track 10 of the cassettes and track 22 on the CDs the track title is given as the 'Wurple-Diddle-I-Do-Song' instead of 'Wurple-Diddle-I-Doo Song'. Side 2 track 4 of the cassettes and track 16 of the CDs appears the title ' I'd Love To Swim in The Zider Zee' which should read '...Zuider Zee'. These errors appear to have remain uncorrected on all pressings.

Below (top) the 2000 and below (bottom) 2001 release of this cassette: This style of cassette body was introduced in 1980 by EMI - the shell being translucent and the case with a clear front and black body with a smooth finish. The text is printed directly onto the shell in white, with a grey or black background inside the shell itself.
Image below is of the relatively rare 2001 reissue of the cassette to include a sticker on the case promoting the addition of the 2001 remix of 'Combine Harvester' to the tracklist.
