In 1975 The Wurzels released their first album since the death of Adge Cutler in 1975 - 'The Wurzels Are Scrumptious'. The ‘live' sequences were recorded in a north Devon holiday camp, the remainder in the EMI Studios. One of the tracks, I'm The Captain Of The Dredger, was selected to be the first single by the band but in the event it only reached the acetate stage of production and its release was shelved. The album was released with no promotional single and this track remained as just one of the tracks on the vinyl. The track on this acetate was lifted straight from the album with just the introduction removed - the playout and applause is identical to the album track. The song had been written by Adge Cutler and Henry Davis.
