This was the eighth 7" 45rpm vinyl single released by The Wurzels after Adge Cutler's death. It was released on 25th August 1978 on the EMI/Columbia record label, catalogue number DB9051.
At the time of the recording of this single The Wurzels consisted of Pete Budd, Tommy Banner and Tony Baylis, all of who had been supporting Adge Cutler at the time of his death in 1974.
Both tracks on this single - I'll Never Get A Scrumpy Here (the 'A' side) and I Got My Beady Little Eye On Thee - were new and previously unreleased tracks. They were both studio recordings (recordings that took place at EMI's Abbey Road Studios) and appeared on the LP that was released a few weeks laster ' I'll Never Get A Scrumpy Here'. Both tracks had clean endings (no audience clapping) and the B side had a longer dialogue on the playout.
The examples below are taken from the collection of Professor Wurzel and represent what a collector should expect to find. Generally The Wurzels' vinyl single releases from 1975 onwards tended to have an initial pressing run and were then taken off the catalogue. Matrix, Mother and Stamper codes were still used on the vinyl and the information centred around Adge's 1960's recordings that can be found on the Main Menu under 'Vinyl Collecting Guides' remains relevant (with minor changes between different record labels).

It was a very low-key release and far more demo recordings are to be found rather than this standard release version shown here. In the vinyl run-out area on the A side is etched ' MASTERED AT ABBEY ROAD NICK ' 'A' Side Matrix: 7YCA 33381-1 1 M 'B' Side Matrix: 7YCA 33382-2 1 O Of interest is that the '7YCA' matrix indicates that this is a stereo release. The first Wurzel single to be so post-Adge.
