Rod Owen (Wurzels musical arranger/director: mid 1970s to 1978)


Rod appears to have worked alongside The Wurzels as music director in the 1970s also fronting The Rod Owen Orchestra who supported (or augmented) The Wurzels on tour.

He is credited on the 'I'll Never Get A Scrumpy Here' album in 1978, and The Rod Owen Orchestra was mentioned on a Wurzel's gig poster from September 1978.

Rod was co-wrote 'I Got Me Beady Little Eye On Thee' with Pete Budd, the b-side of the 1978 'I'll Never Get A Scrumpy Here' single, which also appeared on the album. As far as I am aware, this was his only songwriting success with the band.
